We feel one of the most important reasons for having your Lexus oil changed every 3k to 5k miles is that included within our service is a 16 point inspection that enables our ASE certified mechanics to spot any potential issues. Our inspection includes Castrol GTX oil and new oil filter, checking and filling of fluids (coolant, transmission, window wiper, brake, battery, power steering), checking condition of hoses, belts, air filter, wiper blade and suspension and lubing the chassis. FixCarNow customers are always welcome to stop by the shop for free check and fill of any fluids between oil changes.

Lexus owners often ask FixCarNow how often oil should be changed. While the standard recommendation has long been to have oil changed every 3000 miles, additives to crude oil, the advent of synthetic oil and newer engines have caused manufacturers and repair shops to change their recommendations.

These changes have left many owners confused. Your vehicle’s manual may offer one recommendation, friends and family may offer another, the repair shop yet another, and the oil life monitor in your Lexus may offer still a different number. Individual driving style plays a key part in determining how often you should change your oil. More ‘severe’ driving, such as fast stops and starts, extended idling in traffic and other conditions may require more frequent oil changes. The issue of what constitutes “normal” versus “severe” driving can be a point of contention among vehicle owners, mechanics and dealership service departments.

Oil ChangeOne solution to determine how often to have your oil changed is to have it analyzed. This analysis will determine the condition of your oil, as well an any engine issues such as fuel or coolant in engine oil. These signs can be indications of future engine problems. An analysis will also provide you with a clear recommendation on how long you can go between oil changes. Please speak with one of our ASE certified mechanics at FixCarNow for further information.
